I Chickened Out...

So today, I had my port-a-cath surgery scheduled and I decided at the very last minute to not do it. The surgeon wanted to do it and the oncologist said it wasn't necessary. And I was just distressed at the thought of another surgery (although it was minor).

The port would have just made getting my blood drawn and the chemo IV placements easier than them finding veins on my arms.

I'm going to try doing chemo through my arm on 9/28 and if I really feel inclined, I'll do the port after the first chemo treatment.

Basically I just don't want either: chemo through a port or chemo through my arm.
