Please read the below experience my wife had at Target on Fort Union in Salt Lake
Charles
Dear Sir or Madam, 10/24/07Today at 2:45 P.M. my wife, (who is a breast cancer patient currently on Chemo) tried to return a pair of men’s Levi Low Boot Cut Jeans that we bought 10/23/07 at the Redwood Rd Store (which were the only jeans on the receipt). The customer service agent (Barbara) stated she could not because the receipt did not match the tag on the pants. She then asked my wife if she bought the jeans from Target. Her tone was very accusational. My wife responded that she did. The cashier again repeated that the pants were not the ones on the receipt. My wife asked to see the manager. The Team lead named Mike came to the front, heard the story from the cashier, and did not handle the merchandise. My wife stated we bought them the day before at the Redwood Rd Target. He told her "these are not the jeans on the receipt". His tone was rude and also accusational. She stated once again the situation, and he told her to take them clear across town and return them. She drove out to the other location and they retuned them with no problem. There were two tags on the pants. One that had a Target Sku, and one that had a Levi Sku. The service at Redwood Road was sufficient. Now let me state for the record. My wife is obviously a cancer patient. She has lost her hair, and wears a beanie to cover her head. She has pale skin and has darkness around her eyes. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. And your store has all sorts of products promoting it. Your manager/team leader is completely incompetent. When I called to explain what happened he was rude and insinuated that my wife was a liar. We have been loyal customers to your company since it opened in Utah. We have spent thousands of dollars over the years we have been married. All of our family photos have been at your portrait studios. After today’s experience we will not return to your stores, nor will we use your website. We belong to many groups and forums for breast cancer locally and nationally. This experience will be shared in full detail to every one we know. Your stores discrimination will be known. I am gravely disappointed at today’s events. I have spent ten years of my career with Sports Authority as a manager, and have never seen this type of rude and uncaring behavior. I hope for your stores future quality of customer service you correct the mistake of staffing your customer service counter with people serverely lacking in proffessional people skills.
